Carlos Celdran nominated as one of Forbes Magazine’s Names You Need to Know in 2011
Carlos Celdran--artist, Reproductive Health (RH) Bill advocate, and Manila tour guide--has been nominated as one of Forbes Magazine’s "Names You Need to Know in 2011." The list includes names--people, places, companies and ideas--that will "likely have a huge impact in the coming 12 months," editor Michael Noer blogged. "I’m looking for the *next* Mark Zuckerberg," he said.
Forbes described Celdran as a "multi-talented, much-accomplished activist (that) deserves book-length treatment." Gordon Chang, a Forbes contributor and book author, wrote about Celdran’s passion for contraception, RH Bill advocacy, and the Damaso stint he was imprisoned for.
"It will take a long time for the (population of the) Philippines to shrink. But, Mari Lim, you’re right that we need to keep our eye on the famous Carlos Celdran. If he gets his way, his country will stop growing at its roaring pace, joining the trend in a region that will soon get smaller," Chang blogged.
