Hollywood actor Leslie Nielsen, 84, died from pneumonia complications at a hospital in Florida on November 28 (US time), reports the AP. He was surrounded by his wife Barbaree and friends, according a statement by his agent, John S. Kelly.
While the Canadian native was best known for his comedic roles in Naked Gun, Airplane!, Repossessed and Mr. Magoo, he showed his serious side in dramatic films like the Forbidden Planet and The Poseidon Adventure.
Nielsen previously worked for the Royal Canadian Air Force and worked as a radio DJ afterwards. According to the AP, he he was legally deaf and wore hearing aids for most of his life. Before Barbaree, the actor was married to Monica Boyer, Sandy Ullman and Brooks Oliver. He had two daughters with Ullman, Thea and Maura.
