Anti-RH Bill Rep. Anthony Golez: Pulse Asia survey results only mean 7 out of 10 Pinoys uninformed about dangers of RH bill; calls pills and IUDs &quo
Bacolod City Rep. Anthony Golez told GMANews.tv that the recent Pulse Asia survey, which showed that 69 percent of Pinoys agree with the Reproductive Health (RH) Bill, only means that roughly 7 out of 10 Filipinos are unaware of the dangers the bill offers.
He also said the intrauterine device, morning-after pill, injectables, and oral contraceptive pills are abortifacients, or agents that induce abortion. "When we consider that life begins during fertilization, many RH services can kill a life in utero."
Other House representatives also criticized the Pulse Asia survey, according to GMANews.tv. Paranaque Rep. Roilo Golez said, "I understand at least 90 percent of the (respondents) have not read the RH bill. How can someone who has not read it have an informed opinion on the bill?"
Davao City Rep. Karlo Nograles told GMANews.tv, "If I ask if you believe that our population must be properly managed, you would probably say yes; the concept sounds wise. But if I say that our population should be managed by committing abortion, you will probably give a different answer."
On the other hand, Gabriela Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan took the survey as "a positive sign that the (RH Bill) will be passed in 2011."
