The Asean Football Federation (AFF) has announced that "the Philippines will not be able to play a leg of their semi-final or subsequent final at a home venue due to no available stadia in the country meeting the requirements for the AFF Suzuki Cup," as posted on the AFF Suzuki Cup website.
According to the announcement, none of the proposed venues in the country were able to meet the required standards stated in the Hosting Obligations for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010. AFF adds that the Philippines Football Federation (PFF) has agreed that they could "choose to play one leg of their semi-final at a neutral venue or both legs in the country of their opposition."
The announcement concludes with a congratulatory note for the Philippines for reaching the semi-finals.
The Philippine national football team recently forced a scoreless draw against Myanmar yesterday allowing the team to advance to the semi-finals. The Philippine team will play against Indonesia this month.
