Ogie Alcasid on 24 Oras
Ogie Alcasid yesterday defended his father’s appointment as chair of the Philippine National Oil Company Development and Management Corp., reports 24 Oras. The singer-songwriter said he had nothing to do with the position given to his father, lawyer Herminio Alcasid Sr. He said Energy Secretary Jose Rene Almendras may have looked into the elder Alcasid’s work experience.
"I’m very proud because my dad was given a post like that even if he is in his 70s. I think it is a great opportunity for him to do something," Alcasid, who composed and performed President Noynoy Aquino’s campaign jingle, said in a 24 Oras report.
Bong Quintana on 24 Oras
Meanwhile, 24 Oras reports that Bong Quintana, the assistant vice president for entertainment of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), also defended his high post. Saying he has been working on PAGCOR theatrical shows for years, he denied using his life partner Boy Abunda’s connection to the Aquino family.
Quintana also said he will not favor the artists of Backroom, Abunda’s talent management agency that Quintana used to be vice president of.
