Kuh Ledesma calls for immediate regulation of foreign artists’ concerts in PH
In the wake of upcoming concerts by foreign artists in the Philippines like Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber, singer-actress Kuh Ledesma has called for the immediate regulation of such concerts, reports ABS-CBNNews.com. She said lawmakers should study ways to protect the interests of local acts. She also noted that international artists are now holding concerts during summer and Valentine’s Day, the "concert seasons" in the Philippines.
According to ABS-CBNNews.com, Ledesma will perform with Rico J. Puno, Marco Sison, Nonoy Zuñiga and Rey Valera-collectively known as the Hitmakers-on February 12 and 13 at the Philippine International Convention Center. The two concerts are days away from Swift’s sold out concert on February 19 at the Araneta Coliseum.
"Foreign artists are flocking to the Philippines and other Asian nations due to insistent public demand," ABS-CBNNews.com reports, citing a local promoter who asked for anonymity.
