P-Noy says Chinese New Year not a holiday

President Noynoy Aquino announced yesterday that the Chinese New Year on February 3 will not be declared a holiday, reports GMANews.tv. There was a proposal to declare the Chinese New Year a non-working holiday but it came after the President issued Proclamation 84, which identifies the 2011 regular and special holidays.

Earlier, the House of Representatives came up with a consolidated bill on the declaration of the Chinese New Year as a special non-working holiday. The measure has been approved for floor deliberation, according to GMANews.tv.
