"The Church always wins" -Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales on the RH Bill
Speaking about the Reproductive Health (RH) Bill, Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales said on Saturday, "Ang simbahan walang talo ’yan. Maniwala kayo, maski ano gawin nila (The Church has never lost. Believe me, whatever they do)... The (Church) of Christ always wins."
Still, Rosales called for a dialogue between those who support and oppose the RH Bill, which is up for plenary debates in Congress tomorrow, reports Inquirer.net.
"It would be better if there is a dialogue, where it’s not just one side presenting its views. They should also see why the position of the Church is (such)," Rosales said. "Because if it just continues like this, where it seems that people are just showing off how good they are at speaking, then that is not good."
He added, according to Inquirer.net, "Let us listen to one another... but, of course, you know that the RH bill has (a well-financed lobby) behind it."
Earlier this month, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines decided to withdraw from talks with Malacañang on the RH Bill, "considering the speed in the ongoing legislative processes both in the Lower House and the Senate."
