Christopher de Leon joins anti-RH Bill interfaith rally, says RH Bill not the solution to poverty

24 Oras report

Batangas board member and actor Christopher de Leon has joined the campaign against the Reproductive Health (RH) Bill, reports GMA News.

At a recent interfaith rally in Lipa, he said, "Hindi po RH Bill ang solusyon ng kahirapan. Ang kailangan po ay mawala ang graft and corruption." ("RH Bill is not the solution to poverty. What is needed is the abolishment of graft and corruption.")

At the rally, Roman Catholics, Muslims and members of the Batangas Presbyterian Church, United Methodist Church, United Church of Christ in the Philippines and Iglesia Filipina Independiente opposed the RH Bill.

The groups called for support for House Bill 13 entitled "Protection of the Unborn Child Act 2010," which is said to be "in line with Church teachings on when life begins" and "leaves artificial contraception out of the scene."
