"Jan-Jan on Willing Willie" story picked up by The Daily Mail UK, Businessweek and more foreign publications

(SPOT.ph) The international press has written about the Jan-Jan Estrada incident, the case of the six-year-old boy who cried while he gyrated on Willing Willie. Bloomberg Businessweek, UK’s The Daily Mail and Metro, Qatar’s Gulf Times and the Middle East’s 7 Days are some of the foreign publications that picked up the story.

The Daily Mail recounted the controversial episode of Willing Willie and its aftermath: Social Welfare Secretary Dinky Soliman "condemning the emotional abuse and humiliation bestowed" on the boy; the Commission on Human Rights, and the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board saying they will investigate the incident; and TV-5 apologizing and saying Jan-Jan cried because he was scared of a towering former cager in the audience; among others.

The Daily Mail also reported that Willing Willie host Willie Revillame had been involved in other controversies before such as the Wowowee stampede that killed 74 people in 2006. Bloomberg Businessweek cited Revillame’s split with ABS-CBN last year "after he was suspended for threatening to resign on the air if the management did not fire another talent."
