P-Noy urges public to boycott smoke belchers
(SPOT.ph) President Noynoy Aquino urged the public yesterday to boycott smoke-belching public utility vehicles, reports ABS-CBN News.
Aquino said.
("To commuters, we could avoiding riding smoke-belching public utility vehicles that add to our pollution problem. Let’s boycott them until the people in charge straighten their act. That wouldn’t be so hard, would it?")
The President added that only 3,600 buses are needed out of the 12,000 out on Metro Manila roads every day. The bottom line is that they need passengers. Commuters are not obliged to get on the buses)."
According to ABS-CBN News, Aquino also attacked "unethical" smoke emission testing centers that release non-appearance certificates to drivers that decline to get their vehicles tested. He added that 80 percent of pollution in the metro is due to vehicles.
