PH Air Force pilot killed in plane crash, 1 still missing
(SPOT.ph) A Philippine Air Force (PAF) pilot was killed in a plane crash in Bagac, Bataan yesterday while another is still missing, according to ABS-CBN News, citing a newsreport on Bandila.
Two pilots were flying one of the PAF’s S-211 jet trainer plane when it crashed at 3 p.m. in Bagac. The PAF have not disclosed the identity of the dead pilot whose body was beyond recognition, according to the Bandila report. The second pilot on the plane, Capt. Raymond de Leon, is still missing.
According to PAF spokesperson Lt. Col. Miguel Ocol, the two pilots went on a proficiency flight to add to their flying hours. The Philippine Coast Guard did a "surface search" yesterday to search for remaining debris from the crash. According to Bandila, the Coast Guard will launch a full-fledged search and retrieval operation today, April 29.
