Sa’Yo Lamang and Sigwa front-runners at the 27th Star Awards for Movies
(SPOT.ph) Laurice Guillen’s Sa ’Yo Lamang and Joel Lamangan’s Sigwa led the nominations for this year’s 27th Star Awards for Movies, reports PEP.ph. The Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) announced a total of 15 mainstream features and 14 independently-produced digital films which qualified for the awards show to be held on June 17.
The family drama, Sa ’Yo Lamang, is on top of the list of the nominations for full-length features while the period drama, Sigwa, led the digital indie film list. Both films also garnered numerous nominations for acting and technical awards: Sa ’Yo Lamang’s Lorna Tolentino and Bea Alonzo (for best lead actress), Christopher de Leon (for best lead actor), and Enchong Dee and Coco Martin (for supporting actor awards); and Sigwa’s Joel Lamangan (for direction), Boni Ilagan (screenplay), Tirso Cruz III (for the supporting actor award), Gina Alajar and Zsa Zsa Padilla (for supporting actress award), and Edgar Martin Littaua (for production design).
