P-Noy defends his work ethic to critics who say he’s not working hard enough
(SPOT.ph) In response to certain newspaper columnists saying he is not working hard enough, President Noynoy Aquino defended his work ethic yesterday in a speech at the 32nd National Conference of Employers, reports ABS-CBN News.
The President mentioned two "critical" columns he read yesterday. "They said I don’t work hard enough. For their information, this is my third engagement of the day." He said he got up at 5:30 a.m. that day "not because (he had) to plant some fields," but because he had to board a plane at 6:30 a.m. to attend two wakes of his party mates in Cebu and Samar.
Aquino added, "We have been burning the midnight oil trying to create an environment where business can thrive, and we have so far been successful." He cited companies that have decided to invest in the Philippines such as Atlantic, Gulf & Pacific, and the Coca-Cola Company, reports ABS-CBN News.
Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigal Valte said Aquino commented on the newspaper columns because he does not want "misinformation" to spread, reports ABS-CBN News. "These people (the columnists) choose what they want to see," Valte said.
