Fox announces Glee 3D movie based on concert tour
(SPOT.ph) 20th Century Fox has announced that it will produce GLEE LIVE! 3D!, a movie based on the upcoming North American concert tour of the hit series, reports Deadline.com. Fox is planning to screen the film for two weeks starting August 12, and it will be released on September 21 in the Philippines.
According to Deadline.com, the movie will feature footage from the concert tour "Glee Live! In Concert!" To be helmed by Fame director Kevin Tancharoen, the film will include performances by Glee stars Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Mark Salling, Dianna Agron, Naya Rivera, Heather Morris, Harry Shum Jr., Chord Overstreet, Darren Criss and Ashley Fink.
"There were only so many cities we could get to," TV Squad quoted Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy’s statement. "We knew that not every fan who wanted to attend a concert would get that opportunity. Now, thanks to our friends at Twentieth Century Fox Film, we’ll be able to bring the concert experience to movie theaters across the country in full three-dimensional glory. We promise every passionate Gleek a cinematic experience that will have them singing and dancing in the aisles."
