"He's an adult...I have nothing to do with it" -Atty. Katrina Legarda on son, director Rafa Santos’ spat with theater community
(SPOT.ph) When asked by a PEP.ph correspondent about her son Cinemalaya director Rafa Santos' predicament involving the theater community, family lawyer and women's rights advocate Katrina Legarda only had two answers: "He's an adult" and "I have nothing to do with it."
Legarda was at the Main Theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) to watch the musical The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber on July 2 when she was asked to comment on Santos' controversial remark about his preference to work with theater actors because "they could be fed Skyflakes and be paid in cat food." The lawyer replied, "He's an adult." She repeated the answer when asked how the incident affected her.
"I have nothing to do with it,"Legarda said before politely excusing herself with a "Thank you" and entering the theater entrance. Just a day before Legarda’s encounter with the press, Santos issued a letter of apology addressed to the theater community explaining his remarks on the ANC show Cityscape.
