Two helpers accuse actress Maricel Soriano of abuse
(SPOT.ph) Two helpers who used to work for actress Maricel Soriano have reportedly accused the Diamond Star of physically and verbally abusing them, reports PEP.ph.
According to the report, May Cachuela, 22, and Camille Acojedo, 18, approached radio commentator Mon Tulfo and said that Soriano even threatened to kill them. According to Cachuela, Soriano disliked it when others tried to reason with her. "Gusto niya ho, lagi ho siyang tama, siya lagi ang pakikinggan (She always wants to be right; she doesn’t listen to us)." Meanwhile, Acojedo said the actress allegedly always cursed at them.
On June 29, however, things reached a boiling point when the two helpers failed to find Soriano's makeup. "Nagwala na ho siya. Nagmumura. Sabi niya, ’Papatayin ko kayo' (She threw a tantrum and kept cursing. She said, 'I'm going to kill you')!'" Cachuela narrated. When things tided down and Cachuela handed Soriano her cigarette case, the actress reportedly kicked her thigh and said: "Hindi ako matatakot sa ’yo! Sige, magdemanda ka! Marami akong pera! Hindi mo ako kaya (I'm not afraid of you. Sue me! I have a lot of money)."
According to Cachuela's statement, the actress attempted to reach for a gun but stopped when her son, Tien, stepped in and supposedly shielded the helpers from his mother and told her, "Please Mom, don’t do that! Don’t hurt her! Ako na lang, please. Kung gusto mong gawin ’yan, ako na lang, please. (Hurt me, instead. If you want to do that, do it to me)!" It was Tien who signed the two's clearance papers when they ran away from Soriano's condo.
According to the report, the two have since filed a blotter report against the actress. Cachuela said they were not the first helpers to be mistreated by Soriano. "Kailangan naming lumaban. Para sa hustisya namin. Trauma na ho ’to. Hindi ako makatulog sa gabi kasi naririnig ko ang mura niya (We need to fight for justice. This has been traumatizing. I can't sleep at night because I can hear her cursing)," she said. Soriano, so far, has kept mum on the issue.
