(SPOT.ph) Rumors that musician Ely Buendia passed away due to cardiac arrest spread via text message yesterday July 26, reports GMA News. Buendia himself denied the rumors.

Yesterday, the former Eraserheads frontman tweeted: "Next time na may magkalat pa na patay na ’ko di na talaga ’ko maniniwala (Next time someone spreads a rumor that I'm dead, I won’t believe it." Around this time last year, a rumor that Buendia died also circulated via text message, reports ABS-CBN News. A similar rumor also spread in 2008.
