Paris Hilton voted "least trusted personality" in the US according to Reuters/Ipsos poll

( A new poll has ranked celebutante Paris Hilton as the least trustworthy celebrity among a roster of 100 well-known personalities, reports Reuters. Market research company Ipsos surveyed over 2,000 Americans to find out which celebrity they trusted the most. Sixty percent voted against Hilton while 89-year-old comedienne Betty White received an 86-percent favorable opinion, winning the most credible celebrity title.

White, the only surviving member of the Golden Girls’ cast, defeated Oscar winners Denzel Washington, Sandra Bullock, Clint Eastwood, and Tom Hanks. Meanwhile, Hilton was also voted the second most unpopular celebrity after Charlie Sheen, whom she trumped in the least trustworthy celebrity poll by over eight points.

According to Yahoo! News, such polls can have an impact on a celebrity’s career. "The poll is more than just a Mean Girls-like popularity contest, said the Yahoo! News article, "The results can have an effect on which celebrities companies choose to endorse their products."
