Murdered film critic Alexis Tioseco’s family and friends offer P1M reward for information on suspect’s whereabouts
(SPOT.ph) Two years after the unsolved murders of film critic Alexis Tioseco and his girlfriend Nika Bohinc, family and friends have decided to put up a P1M bounty for any information regarding the whereabouts of suspect Criselda Gesman Dayag, reports PEP.ph. The announcement was made during a press conference at the National Bureau of Investigation office on August 26.
Tioseco and Bohinc were shot dead in their Quezon City home in Sept. 1, 2009. According to previous reports, Dayag, their household helper, led three unidentified gunmen inside the house on the night of the murder. Officials from the NBI said that Dayag has yet to be found.
Rock Ed Philippines founder Gang Badoy, the couple’s friend, clarified that the reward, which was donated by friends and family, does not imply that justice can only be afforded by the rich. "It’s just that we have no choice but to try everything...just to get us to the truth, to find some form of justice," Badoy said in a separate PEP.ph report. Tioseco’s cousin, Nathan, said during the press conference: "It’s almost been two years since the murder, and it’s time we get answers and justice and finally some closure in the case."
