Lea Salonga is one of judges in Miss Universe 2011

"In a press statement, US network NBC, Donald Trump and Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart announced that Lea Salonga, together with six others, will judge the pageant," ABS-CBNNews.com reports. The Tony Award-winning singer is set to be at the 60th Miss Universe Pageant in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The Tony Award-winning singer is set to be at the 60th Miss Universe Pageant in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

 

The report went on to say that Salonga’s fellow judges are race car driver Helios Castroneves, journalist Connie Chung, supermodel Isabeli Fontana , actresses Vivica Fox and Adrienne Maloof, and Miss Universe 2003 Amelia Vega.

 

According to PEP, the live coverage of Miss Universe 2011 will be aired on ABS-CBN on Tuesday, September 13, at 9:30 a.m. Theres also a free-TV primetime telecast via Studio 23 the same day at 9:30 p.m. Cable channel Velvet (SkyCable ch. 53) will have a double primetime replay at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

 

This year, Miss Universe fans are allowed to vote for their favorite contestant through an online poll. The online voting’s overall winner snags an automatic slot in the pageant's semi-finals. Fans can vote online at www.missuniverse.com or www.NBC.com until September 11.
