ABS-CBN News’ North America Bureau reports that former supermodel and beauty queen Melanie Marquez made a surprise catwalk comeback in Arizona at a local fashion show. "I feel so nervous, you know. I feel like I’m a beginner. But it’s nice to do the show because it’s a charity show. That’s why I'm here. There is a purpose," she said.

According to the report, Marquez wore Filipiniana gowns by designers Richard Papa, Edgar Madamba, and Edgar San Diego, who have been touring key cities in the U.S. for the past few weeks.

Marquez, who is married to lawyer-rancher Adam Lawyer, also added,  has been busy being a wife, a hands-on mom, and taking care of their farm in Utah. "From glamorous life to unglamorous, I became a farmer. Importante sa tao hindi lang puro glamor. Kelangang magkaroon tayo ng abilidad (It’s not just all about glamor. We need to have useful skills)," she said. Marquez added that she is now happy and content.

Two years ago, Marquez was gung-ho about going to law school. The report did not say if she is still going to pursue becoming a lawyer-by profession and not by last name alone.
