Ousted Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi killed

Reuters, via Interaksyon.com, reports that former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi died on Thursday, October 20, as fighters battling to complete an eight-month-old uprising against his rule overran his hometown Sirte.

Gaddafi, 69, who had ruled Libya for over 40 years, was capturedby forces affiliated with the National Transitional Council (NTC) and later died from gunshot wounds.

 

The report quted NTC official Abdel Majid Mlegta, who said that Gaddafi was wounded in both legs as he tried to flee in a convoy which NATO warplanes attacked. Mlegta also revealed, "He (Gaddafi) was also hit in his head. There was a lot of firing against his group and he died."
