Condoms may be outlawed in Ayala, Alabang-but, unfortunately, as Philstar.com reports, shabu (methamphetamine) labs are being set up in the area. According to the report, on January 6, police raided a house that had become a shabu laboratory in the one-hectare property on Acacia Street. Five Chinese nationals were caught in that particular raid.

Then, on January 13, police were once again in the area to raid two houses: one located at 119 Kanlaon Street and another one at 536 Country Club Drive. The Philstar.com report noted: "At the Kanlaon street house, agents recovered laboratory equipment, assorted chemicals and approximately three kilos of finished shabu. They seized from the house on Country Club Drive laboratory equipment, chemicals, and chemical residue." Both houses were "unmanned" when the police came, although they revealed they already had details about and photographs of the houses’ tenants.

Meanwhile, Philstar.com disclosed that Muntinlupa Mayor Aldrin San Pedro "directed barangay officials of Ayala Alabang to explain why they should not be sanctioned for the three drug laboratories operating ’right under their noses.’" According to the mayor’s spokesman, Omar Acosta, the barangay officials "may be sanctioned for being remiss in their duties" because the mayor thought their security measures were "ineffective."
