Plane collides with tricycle in Pangasinan; Pilot and passenger injured, trike driver flees from scene

The report noted: "According to a report by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), a Cessna 152 plane carrying a flight instructor and a student just landed on the runway when a tricycle suddenly blocked its path. Both Queenie Gaviola, flight instructor of Flight and Simulator Training, Inc. in Las Piñas, and student pilot Joseph Valledor, Jr. of Parañaque were injured in the collision." CAAP later revealed that the plane's horizontal stabilizer was damaged.

 

According to the report, "the tricycle driver immediately fled the scene after the mishap." The tricycle driver was not named in the report. As of the time that the article was posted (8:12 p.m. on January 28), authorities were still investigating how the tricycle was able to access the airport’s runway."
