Casual wear company Fast Retailing announced that the first UNIQLO store in the Philippines will open at the SM Mall of Asia sometime in June this year. The UNIQLO store boasts of 1,550 square meters of floor space and will offer apparel for men, women, kids, and babies.

Casual wear company Fast Retailing opened its first UNIQLO store in Japan in 1984 and began its expansion into international markets in 1991 by launching stores in the UK and, subsequently, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, the U.S., France, Singapore, and Russia.

According to Fast Retailing Philippines, Inc.’s chief operating officer, Katsumi Kubota, they plan to hire around 100 Filipinos for the UNIQLO Philippines store.
