Former QC Rep. Nanette Castelo-Daza’s boyfriend shot dead in her home; Daza’s son-in-law owns up to shooting him, claims it was self-defen

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that Noel Orate Sr., 55, the longtime boyfriend of former Congresswoman Nanette Castelo Daza was shot dead on Friday evening, February 10, inside Daza’s home in Maningning Street, Barangay Teachers’ Village East in QC. Orate, identified as a district manager of United Laboratories, died on the spot. According to the report, Orate has been Daza’s boyfriend for the last 12 years.

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that Noel Orate Sr., 55, the longtime boyfriend of former Congresswoman Nanette Castelo Daza was shot dead on Friday evening (February 10) inside Daza’s home in Maningning Street, Barangay Teachers’ Village East in Quezon City. Orate, identified as a district manager of United Laboratories,  died on the spot. According to the report, Orate has been Daza’s boyfriend for the last 12 years.

 

The report revealed: "The suspect was identified as Daza's son-in-law Allan Robes, a board member of Bulacan province. Robes is married to Daza's daughter Councilor Jessica Castelo Daza. Robes was arrested and is now detained at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit in Camp Karingal."

 

Philstar.com reports that Robes’ camp says that he shot rate in self-defense. The Philstar.com report noted: "A reportedly drunk Orate allegedly went to Daza’s house, carrying a gun. He allegedly made threats, leading to a commotion at the house. Robes then intervened and it was during this time that the shooting happened." However, Orate’s family is questioning that angle. The investigation is still ongoing.
