Former Senator Ernesto Maceda predicts Vice President Jejomar Binay will run for president in 2016, names his possible running mates

ABS-CBNNews.com-citing an ANC interview-reports that former senator Ernesto Maceda said on Wednesday, February 15, that "at least 18 people want to run for senator under Vice President Jejomar Binay's coalition in the 2013 elections."

 

Maceda said that the following senators are part of the group: incumbent senators Francis Escudero, Loren Legarda, Gregorio Honasan and Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III, as well as Jackie Ponce Enrile (son of Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile) and Joey de Venecia (son of former Speaker Jose de Venecia). Maceda added that he himself "may possibly make a comeback in the elections next year under Binay's coalition."

 

Moreover, when asked if he thinks Binay would be running as president in 2016, Maceda answered: "[There is] no doubt about that." He went on to name Binay’s potential running mates: Senators Escudero, Jinggoy Estrada, or even Bong Revilla.
