Malacañang beat reporter who was shot in Pasig City is facing drug possession charges, say police

Philstar.com, citing information from the police, reports that 41-year-old Fernan Angeles-the Malacañang beat reporter from The Daily Tribune who got shot last Sunday, March 11-is facing drug possession charges.

Philstar.com, citing information from the police, reports that 41-year-old Fernan Angeles-the Malacañang beat reporter from The Daily Tribune who got shot last Sunday, March 11-is facing drug possession charges. The report quoted the police, who said (on Thursday, March 14) that they would serve the arrest warrant for Fernan. The  warrant was issued by Judge Paz Esperanza Cortez of the Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 154. The Philstar.com repport further revealed: "Records from the Special Investigation Task Group Angeles (SITG Angeles) show that the Pasig City police arrested (Angeles) on February 28, 2011. A P200,000 bail was recommended."

 

Philstar.com quoted Superintendent Ganaban Ali, public information officer of the Eastern Police District, who said that they would serve the arrest warrant once the Angeles’ condition has stabilized. Angeles remains confined at the Pasig City General Hospital.
