Taylor Kitsch movie John Carter rules PH box office despite calls for boycott

ABS-CBNNews.com reports: "Despite calls to boycott Canadian actor Taylor Kitsch’s movie, people were still enticed to watch Disney's John Carter, which had the second-best opening for a Hollywood film in the Philippines this year after Underworld Awakening, which debuted in January with $879,072 (around P37.95 million)."

ABS-CBNNews.com reports: "Despite calls to boycott Canadian actor Taylor Kitsch’s movie, people were still enticed to watch Disney's John Carter, which had the second-best opening for a Hollywood film in the Philippines this year after Underworld Awakening, which had debuted in January with $879,072 (around P37.95 million)."

Kitsch got slammed by Pinoys after he inadvertently implied that he was given a hard time by a Filipino immigration officer. As it turns out, Kitsch was mistaken since he shot the movie Savages in Indonesia.

The report noted: "According to Box Office Mojo, Star Cinema’s rom-com starring John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin earned US$116,978 (around P5 million) from March 7 to 11, beaten only by, John Carter, which debuted at the No. 1 spot with a box-office take of US$823,935 (around P34.97 million) for the same period."
