InterAksyon.com, citing information from the British Embassy, reports that "the calamansi marmalade with brandy made by British chef and Bacolod resident Robert Harland won a silver medal for the Philippines in the international category of the 2012 World Marmalade Championships held recently in England."

InterAksyon.com pointed out that the entry from the Philippines "bested over 1,700 other entries." The report also revealed that this is the first time the Philippines has been represented at the competition, which is now in its seventh year.

The report quoted British Embassy Chargé d' Affaires Trevor Lewis, who said, "This is a great example of the UK and Philippines working together. A British national uses local produce to make marmalade in the Philippines that then wins an international award in England.  It must taste good!"
