Sen. Miriam Santiago’s critic says she should take psych test before she sits at the International Criminal Court

ABS-CBNNews.com reports: "Atty. Vitaliano Aguirre, who drew the ire of Santiago for covering his ears during one of the senator’s outbursts at the inpeachment trial of then Chief Justice Renato Corona, said the Philippines could lose face if Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago is allowed to sit as an International Criminal Court (ICC) judge."

Thus, Aguirre recommended that Santiago "should take a psychological exam before she sits in the ICC." He said: "Why doesn’t she take a psychological test? A neuro test? Para malaman natin na talagang hindi na niya gagawin ang mga ginawa niya sa impeachment court (So that we’ll know that she can’t do there what she did in the impeachment court)." The report noted that Aguirre "is [also] supporting an online petition against Santiago at the ICC." The ICC is based in The Hague in the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, InterAksyon.com reports that when Santiago was asked how she felt about Aguirre’s recommendation, she told reporters covering the Senated beat: "I appeal to you, will you please be fair to me. You know there is a black propaganda campaign against me.  [So] please don’t ask me anymore ’What do you say about this black propaganda against you and they are listing...what to them is your [bad] personal characteristics.’ Please do not ask me that anymore. I feel very insulted. Just in case you still do not know, it is very offensive. It’s very rude and discourteous to me."
