Manny Pacquiao won against Tim Bradley, announces WBO; Pacman prefers rematch

Abac Cordero of The Philippine Star reports that the World Boxing Organization (WBO) gathered "five international judges to evaluate the video of the Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley match and they unanimously scored the fight in favor of Pacquiao."

Abac Cordero of The Philippine Star reports that the World Boxing Organization (WBO) gathered "five international judges to evaluate the video of the Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley match and they unanimously scored the fight in favor of Pacquiao." The WBO then announced on Wednesday, June 20 (U.S. time) that Pacquiao should really have won. However, the report revealed that WBO "does not have the power to overturn the initial ruling." Thus, the controversial result will stand.

The report noted: "Pacquiao has indicated that he would prefer a rematch to Bradley forfeiting the belt, according to Bob Arum, the promoter for both fighters. Pacquiao said he will not accept the WBO welterweight crown from Bradley even if the American gives it back to him." The Philippine Star report quoted the statement Pacquiao gave in a radio interview: "Kung ibigay naman nina (Bradley), hindi ko naman tatanggapin. Baka isipin ng tao inaagaw ko ang belt (If Bradley and his people give it back, I won't accept it. People might think I’m just grabbing the belt)."
