(SPOT.ph) After 74 seasons of rivalries, injuries and moments of glory, the UAAP opened its diamond year with a bang, with host school National University sparing no expense in the Opening Ceremonies of the 75th season. Held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, the year’s theme, "Unbreakable at 75" was shown through collaborated perfomances from all eight UAAP schools. Audiences applauded when cheerdancers from each school took to the stage in costumes that lit up the huge arena. Former President Fidel V. Ramos, an alumnus of NU, was all too happy to take the stage and do his signature jump. Team captains from each school then came up to take their oath of sportsmanship, led by current MVP and NU Bulldog Bobby Ray Parks, Jr.
The games began as soon as the festivities died down, with NU taking a win from UE (90-55). FEU then narrowly won against UST (73-72) in the second game. You can view current scores and future schedules of games here.
