700,000 families to be added to PH government’s Conditional Cash Transfer Program beneficiaries in 2013

Helen Flores of The Philippine Star reports that according to Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Corazon Soliman "another 700,000 poor families will receive cash grants under the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program (4Ps) in 2013."

Helen Flores of The Philippine Star reports that according to Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Corazon Soliman "another 700,000 poor families will receive cash grants under the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program (4Ps) in 2013." Soliman added that the DSWD "has a proposed budget of ₱44.5 billion for the government's conditional cash transfer program in 2013" and that the agency also "aims to reach 3.1 million beneficiaries by the end of 2012." She explained that "321,000 beneficiaries would graduate from the 4Ps by by Dec. 31, 2013."

 

The report noted that the families who graduate from the 4Ps "would continue to be assisted by the government through its various sustainable livelihood programs."
