49 dead and more than 2 million affected by flood, says NDRRMC

ABS-CBNNews.com revealed that according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) report on Thursday night (August 9), "49 died and 2,110,871 people people in Metro Manila and several Luzon provinces have been affected by heavy rains caused by a storm-enhanced habagat or the southwest monsoon."

ABS-CBNNews.com revealed that according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) report on Thursday night (August 9), "49 died and 2,110,871 people people in Metro Manila and several Luzon provinces have been affected by heavy rains caused by a storm-enhanced habagat or the southwest monsoon."

 

The report further noted that "drowning caused most of the deaths." It went on to noted that "26 died in Metro Manila, including 11 who were buried alive in a landslide in Quezon City" and "19 were killed in the provinces of Pampanga, Zambales, Bulacan, and Bataan in Central Luzon. Four died in Batangas, Rizal, and Romblon."
