ABS-CBNNews.com reports that in a brief press conference in Naga City on Thursday (August 23) Atty. Leni Robredo, wife of the late Sec. Jesse Robredo, revealed that her husband’s watch is still working "despite [being subjected to] the impact of the plane crash and being submerged in 55 meters of saltwater for nearly three days." The watch is a Philippine-made Timex. The report noted: "Most Timex watches are made in the company’s factory in Cebu."

The report quoted Atty. Robredo who said in jest, "Sabi ko nga magandang advertisement sa Timex. Yung relo, after three days underwater, it was still working (I said it’s good advertisement for Timex. The watch, after three days underwater, it was still working). The time was accurate."

The report added that 12-year-old Jillian Robredo, the Robredos’ youngest daughter, is now using the watch.
