Nora Aunor gets Bisato d'Oro Award from Italian film critics for her performance in Thy Womb

InterAksyon.com reports that Nora Aunor received the Bisato d'Oro Award from the Premio Della Critica Indipendiente (a jury of independent film critics in Italy) for her performance in Thy Womb. The report noted: "Her portrayal of a barren Badjao midwife who finds a young surrogate partner for her husband has received unanimous praise from international critics."

 

The report added that Aunor, along with director Brillante Mendoza and co-stars Lovi Poe and Mercedes Cabral, received a five-minute standing ovation after the red carpet premiere of Thy Womb at the 69th Venice International Film Festival.
