Cathy Yamsuan of the Philippines Daily Inquirer reports that "Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile on Monday defended former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Rico Puno, saying the controversial shooting range buddy of President Benigno Aquino was simply following the Chief Executive's order to ’lock down’ the offices of the late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo to protect state papers."

The report quoted Enrile, who said, "That's state property." He made this statement to justify Puno’s attempts to enter Robredo's offices  in the DILG, National Police Commission, and Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame, as well as his condominium apartment sometime after the fatal crash that killed Robredo.
