Reuters, via ABS-CBNNews.com, reports that Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep, which is the sequel to his 1977 bestselling novel The Shining, is due out next year. According to the report, King announced on his website, "Scribner and Hodder & Stoughton have established September 24, 2013 as the official first publication date for Doctor Sleep."

The report noted: "In 1980, The Shining was adapted into a film directed by Stanley Kubrick and starring Jack Nicholson as the troubled writer Jack Torrance." Doctor Sleep is about Jack’s now-middle-aged son, Dan.
