P-Noy pays for Grace Padaca’s ₱70,000 graft case bail

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that on Thursday, October 4, newly appointed Commission on Elections (COMELEC) commissioner Grace Padaca posted the ₱70,000 bail for the malversation and graft charges filed against her at the Sandiganbayan’s 5th Division. The report quoted Padaca, who revealed that President Noynoy Aquino used his own money to pay for her bail.

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that on Thursday, October 4, newly appointed Commission on Elections (COMELEC) commissioner Grace Padaca posted the ₱70,000 bail for the malversation and graft charges filed against her at the Sandiganbayan’s 5th Division. She was accompanied by Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas. The report quoted Padaca, who revealed that President Noynoy Aquino used his own money to pay for her bail.

 

The report noted that "the anti-graft court earlier issued a warrant for Padaca’s arrest for a ₱25 million malversation case filed by former Isabela congressman, Santiago Respicio" and that Padaca "filed a motion for certiorari at the Supreme Court to question the probable cause of the case." Padaca had served as Isabela’s governor from 2004 to 2010.
