The National Bureau of Investigation has arrested a suspected member of the Dominguez car-theft group, which is believed responsible for kidnapping and killing car dealer Venson Evangelista.

Sandy Araneta and Aie Balagtas See of the Philippine Star report the NBI arrested Joel Jacinto, alias Eduardo Fernandez, in Las Piñas earlier this week.

"The alias Eduardo Fernandez was also used by self-confessed hitman Rolando Talban, who identified Jacinto as one of his handlers when he was arrested in September. Police said Jacinto was also known as Boy Fortune and Boy Mekaniko," the report said.

Evangelista is believed to have been lured by Alfred Mendiola, who said he posed as a potential buyer for an SUV that Evangelista was selling the day he was kidnapped.  Mendiola, who turned government witness, was killed in May.
