Indie film Aparisyon wins Audience Award at the Deauville Asian Film Festival in France

Edwin P. Sallan of InterAksyon.com reports that the indie film Aparisyon, which had been part of the 2012 Cinemalaya line-up, won the Audience Award at the Deauville Asian Film Festival in France on Sunday, March 10.

Sallan of InterAksyon.com reports that the indie film Aparisyon, which had been part of the  2012 Cinemalaya line-up, won the Audience Award at the Deauville Asian Film Festival in France on Sunday, March 10. The report noted that the film, which is directed by Vincent Sandoval, was "the first film to be given such an award since the Deauville festival began in 1999."

 

Aparisyon stars Jodi Sta. Maria, Mylene Dizon, Fides Cuyugan-Asensio, Raquel Villavicencio, and Rustica Carpio. It’s a "a psychological drama about a community of cloistered nuns set in 1971, one year before the declaration of Martial Law."
