50-megawatt wind farm to be built in Pulupandan, Negros Occidental

Euan Paulo C. Anonuevo of InterAksyon.com reports that "First Maxpower International Corp., a local renewable energy firm, hopes to build a 50-megawatt wind farm in Pulupandan, Negros Occidental starting this year."

First Maxpower International Corp., a local renewable energy firm, hopes to build a 50-megawatt wind farm in Pulupandan, Negros Occidental starting this year." The report noted that company president Francis A. Paderna revealed that they "already submitted a letter to [the Department of Energy] of the declaration of commerciality for the project."

 

Paderna added that they have "completed the wind resource assessment, feasibility study, and secured the [environmental compliance certificate] and other necessary clearances from different agencies as well as public consultation with the community." Paderna also pointed out that they’re "in negotiations with undisclosed parties for the financing of the $122 million project" and aim to "start the commercial operation of the Pulupandan wind farm in the second half of 2015."
