Agence France-Presse reports via InterAksyon.com that the spokesperson of two-time Oscar winner Michael Douglas denied on Monday "that the Hollywood veteran actor had blamed his throat cancer on oral sex in a British newspaper interview."
Â
The report explained that in an interview with The Guardian, the 68-year old "Fatal Attraction" star said his cancer was caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). "Without wanting to get too specific, this particular cancer is caused by HPV, which actually comes about from cunnilingus," he said.
Â
But Douglas' representative Allen Burry said that while the actor "certainly discussed oral sex in the article," he did not say that it was the specific cause of cancer in his case." He clarified that the actor was talking about the link between HPV and throat cancer in "general, not personal terms."
