Delon Porcalla of The Philippine Star reports that President Benigno Aquino III "was finally forced to let go of his first generation iPhone" and subscriber number after hackers posted his mobile number online last month.

The report quoted unnamed sources as saying that the President replaced his old phone, which he had been using since he was a senator, after receiving "some 3,000 messages" from people who saw his number on the Internet.

In mid-June, a hacker who claims to be a member of "Anonymous Philippines" posted three mobile numbers which supposedly belong to the President. Members of the Presidential Communications Group have refused to confirm or deny whether Aquino was using any of these numbers.
