New Bohol airport will be ready by 2015, says DOTC Secretary Jun Abaya

The government has promised the construction of a ₱7.14 billion new airport in Bohol "by the third quarter of 2015."

The Philippine News Agency (via InterAksyon.com) reports that the government has promised the construction of a ₱7.14 billion new airport in Bohol "by the third quarter of 2015." This information was revealed by Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Secretary Joseph Emilio "Jun" Abaya on Sunday, June 30.

 

The report further quoted Abaya, who said that "the project, which was conceived 22 years ago, has the blessing of President Benigno Aquino III." Abaya also added that the new 220-hectare Bohol airport "will be equipped with modern facilities to meet international standards."
