Manila Zoo elephant Mali set to be transferred to Subic
But Zoobic Safari can’t have the animal for keeps.
The Philippine Star's Aie Balagtas See reports that Mali, the elephant in Manila Zoo, will be temporarily transferred to Zoobic Safari in Subic once the renovation of the city zoo starts.
The report explained that "Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada yesterday said he agreed to the request of Zoomanity Group (ZG) to allow the company to take care of Mali at least temporarily." ZG is the group behind Zoocobia Fun Zoo at Clark Freeport, Zoobic Safari and the Paradizoo Theme Park in Cavite.
The mayor also announced that Mali will soon have company in the refurbished zoo because the Sri Lankan government is set to donate two more elephants to Manila.
