Kris Aquino on taking the MRT: "People were so nice. What a memorable experience!"
Try taking it every day, then.
ABS-CBNNews.com reports that on Tuesday night, September 10, "President Aquino’s youngest sister and ’Queen of All Media’ Kris Aquino had to take the MRT after heavy rains paralyzed traffic in Quezon City." The report noted: "The 42-year-old actress was en route to an event hosted by a product she endorses when the sudden downpour turned EDSA [into] what she referred to as a parking lot."
After boarding the train, Aquino lost no time in taking a selfie. She shared a photo of her inside a train coach, captioned, "Me on the MRT. Made it to the awarding ceremony... People were so NICE. What a memorable experience!" Several netizens-perhaps those who have experienced the nastiness of the MRT crowd during rush hour-slammed Aquino for her statement because it struck them as "patronizing."
The report noted that Filipino boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao "was likewise forced to take the MRT as he was running late for a Christian gathering held inside the ABS-CBN Compound in Quezon City."
