Megan Young’s basher Devina DeVida allegedly gets fired from her job, Miss World Philippines calls it "karma at work"
The basher’s bosses were reportedly Filipinos.
News5's MJ Marfori reports (via Interaksyon.com) that the Miss World Philippines organization considers the termination of Singaporean-Indian Devina DeVida from her teaching job as "karma" for bashing Miss World Megan Young.
According to the report, the organization issued the statement after "the Philippine Daily Inquirer and the International Business Times reported that Devida had been terminated from her job as an assistant teacher at a school run, ironically, enough, by Filipino supervisors." DeVida enraged several Filipino netizens when she bashed Young online after the Filipina beauty queen won the Miss World crown. "Miss Philippines is Miss World? What a joke? I didn't know those maids have anything else in them. Hahaha," she posted on Twitter.
In a statement sent to News5, the local pageant franchisee of Miss World said: "Despite the racial slur against Filipinos and Megan, we at Miss World Philippines regret the fact that Devina DeVida's actions were done at the cost of losing her job... It is a classic case of karma at work."
